R134a refrigerant is commonly used in a variety of cooling and air conditioning applications. It was originally developed to replace R12 in automotive air conditioning systems. It is also used to replace refrigerants R12 and R500 in coolers. It is also used as a medium temperature system in residential buildings and commercial environments.
R134a refrigerant is suitable for:

Application and use of refrigerant R134a
In water and liquid cooling solutions and heat pumps, the refrigerant can be regulated up to January 1, 2030, in accordance with F-gas.
In commercial and professional refrigeration equipment, use on the primary side of a cascade system is permitted. --As of 2022, the power exceeds 40kW.
Refrigerated/frozen shipping, is permitted under F-gas regulations until January 1, 2030.

R134a and R410a were originally CFC-based refrigerants introduced as possible replacements. CFCs are more harmful to the environment.
Although these two HFC refrigerants are more environmentally friendly than their earlier counterparts (R22, R12, R500, etc.). They are completely different in terms of properties.
R134a is a pure refrigerant and is also used in mixtures. In turn, R410a is a mixture. The boiling points of these substances also vary widely. The boiling points of R134a and R410a are -14.9℃and -61.9℃, respectively. At room temperature, R134a is 70 psi and R410a is 200 psi. They are naturally used in different types of systems and for different purposes.
Also, replacement is often not without problems. For example, when replacing R22 with R134a, there are many problems that cannot be directly replaced; R134a has 60% lower cooling power than R22, which means that the condenser of the system has to work overtime to achieve the same cooling capacity. R134a is bad for rubber parts and can cause leakage.
For R134a, the circulation system needs a dryer because the refrigerant can absorb moisture. R134a also corrodes copper, so the system must contain additives to prevent this. The R134a system requires a special oil which is less effective overall than the oil used in the R22 system.
Alternative refrigerants have naturally been developed. The above example is a good illustration of what can happen when one substance is replaced by another. Alternative refrigerants are naturally not always the most affordable, and system retrofits also involve costs.
